Tinolang

Chicken Ginger Stew is a well-known soup-based dish served as a main course in
the Philippines. It’s a home-style dish and very easy to cook.

Tinolang Manok is best for those who is suffering sickness
such as cold and fever it serves comfort and a healthy dish to a sick
person. Its healthy because fresh chicken is
well boiled, along with the veggies and the very flavorful ginger that also has
many health benefits.
Ingredients:
- 1 kilo of chicken cut into pieces
- green papaya/sayote(chayote) cut into pieces
- ½ garlic minced
- Onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves of galic
- 1-½ inches ginger (peeled/sliced)
- 1 cabbage/ Malunggay (horse radish tree)
- 2 tablespoon of oil
- Salt and pepper- to taste
- 4-5 cups of water
- Fish sauce 2 tablespoon
Cooking Direction:
- Pour oil into pot, put the garlic, onion and ginger and sauté over medium heat.
- Add the chicken pieces sauté until lightly brown 4-5 min. then add fish sauce, stir and simmer cover for 3 minutes.
- Add water and sliced green papaya or chayote and cover to simmer until all is cooked.
- Add cabbage/malunggay (horse radish tree) drop salt and pepper to taste and serve.
